"Position yourself as a center of influence - the one who knows the movers and shakers. People will respond to that, and you'll soon become what you project." ~Bob Burg

The NY Actors Tweetup:
A casual networking group where performing artists and all those involved (or interested in) the entertainment industry can get together, share resources and have fun!
Started in June 2010 by Marissa Mutascio & Erin Cronican, our events allow for a safe, fun and pressure-free way for people to forge connections and inspire action.
Come mingle with actors, writers, directors, casting directors, designers and others interested in talking about the arts!
And please feel free to pass this site along to others in the industry, even if they aren't on Twitter or Facebook.
Our event photography is generously provided by Straley Photography.
"This is a small industry, and while you can't ask a new acquaintance to cast you in his next film, or a fellow screening attendee for her agent's unlisted phone number, the more people you get to know, the smaller the industry will become. Every event you attend, every fellow actor you take the time to get to know, will pay off in the future—often in unexpected ways. This industry is a community. Get out and meet your neighbors."
"Kindred spirits might [be] found at an Actors Tweetup - a free networking event for actors, writers, directors, producers, and other artists in the social media sphere. The New York and Los Angeles events provide opportunities for [the community] to get to know each other in person."
Upcoming Events
We host events roughy every two months.
Look for our next event at the beginning of June 2012.

Help Us Grow!
There are a couple of ways we can make the Tweetups even better...
Invite people to our Tweetups: especially non-actors who want a relaxed and fun way to meet actors and other professionals.
We welcome filmmakers, writers, producers, directors, choreographers, designers, casting directors, agents, managers, production crew... just about anyone who is looking to build their business in the performing arts. We're great marketers, great fund raisers and great collaborators. Encourage your industry friends to take advantage of the incredible resources we provide.
Facebook: Invite people to join our Official Group: Go to our Facebook Group page and click the "Add Friends To Group" link.
Twitter: RT our messages and use our special hashtag: You can find us at @NYActorsTweetup, where we post updates, resources and RT the successes of our many members. If you want to help promote our events, feel free to RT our posts, and use our official hashtag -- #NYActorsTweetup!
